Australian dancer Dianne Buswell will take to the dancefloor this evening alongside fellow Aussie Stefan Dennis, with whom she is partnering for this year's series of Strictly Come Dancing. The 36-year-old is making history as the first professional competitor to take part in the series while pregnant. Dianne, who is in a relationship with formerStrictly star Joe Sugg, announced their pregnancy to fans in recent weeks.
The pair revealed they are welcoming a little boy into the world in 2026 in a sweet social media post to their followers. While most people have been excited about the wonderful news, Dianne admitted she has been receiving hurtful comments about dancing on Strictly during her pregnancy. Dianne shared a message on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday evening to show one of the many negative comments which have landed in her inbox.

However, Dianne appears to have moved on from the backlash and took to social media this afternoon to share a health update alongside Neighbours' legend Stefan.
Holding her phone and pressing record, Dianne said next to Stefan ahead of tonight's live show: "It's our daily vlog, say hi to the people."
She went on to say she and Stefan had "done our run" and "both had physio because we're old" as they issued a health update to their fans.
They went on to reveal what they'd had for lunch, how they had feuded for tonight's performance, and teased that they had watched part of other stars' routines. Dianne opted for a protein-packed tofu dish, while Stefan had a chicken lunch.
Hours before posting the story, Dianne shared a sweet snap of baby clothes and congratulations cards on her Story. She captioned the picture of the gifts, which included a bouquet of flowers: "Made my day receiving such lovely congratulations cards and flowers, and the little outfit. You know who you are, thank you."
Dianne was the 2024 winner of Strictly Come Dancing alongside her celebrity partner Chris McCausland, who made history as the show's first blind contestant.
Will she be able to win this year's series with Stefan as the "Aussie dream team" as she's branded themselves?
Strictly Come Dancing launches tonight at 6.55pm on BBC One and BBC Iplayer.
