Schools in a UK town were placed in lockdown on Monday, it has been reported. A heightened police presence, including armed police officers, was noticed by locals in Holyhead on September 15. Parents at a primary school reportedly received a message stating the pupils' school was put into a "temporary lockdown" by the North Wales Police. It is not yet clear what prompted the response and police presence in the area. NorthWalesLive mentioned unconfirmed reports that a man was seen with an axe.
The lockdown measures have been lifted, having remained in place only briefly, two schools confirmed. However, concerns remain over what prompted the lockdown, with parents worried about their children's safety, although police presence remains significant.
