Donald Trump will be asked whether he believes former Prince Andrew should give evidence to Congress about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has said.
Emails released by US House Democrats earlier claimed that Donald Trump "spent hours" at convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein's house with an alleged victim. Among the documents released on November 12 is what appears to be an email exchange between Epstein and his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell. In the message dating back to 2011, Epstein allegedly said: "I want you to realise that that dog that hasn't barked is trump... VICTIM spent hours at my house with him, he has never once mentioned. police chief. etc, im 75% there [SIC]." Maxwell, who has been convicted of conspiring in Epstein's sex trafficking ring and is serving a 20-year sentence, allegedly replied: "I have been thinking about that..."
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told the Express: "The Democrats selectively leaked emails to the liberal media to create a fake narrative to smear President Trump." One journalist at the White House asked Ms Leavitt whether President Trump believed former Prince Andrew should come and testify to Congress on the scandal, and she replied: "I haven't spoken to him about that specific matter, but I can ask him and get back to you." The US President has consistently denied any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and has never been accused of wrongdoing in connection with the investigations into Epstein.
