Bhubaneswar: Senior Odisha-cadre IAS officer Shalini Pandit is set to proceed on central deputation, according to the notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel on Saturday.
The 2001-batch officer has been appointed as joint secretary in the Department of Financial Services for a tenure of five years from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, it added.
Pandit is currently serving as the Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Department of School and Mass Education of the Odisha government.
Her appointment comes three months after two other IAS officers from Odisha, Ashish Thakare and R Vineel Krishna, left on central deputation as Director in D/o Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Delhi, and Joint Secretary of Sports Department under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, respectively.
In April, senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal, who was serving as additional chief secretary to Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, was moved to the Centre. The 1993-batch officer took charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs upon the superannuation of the current Secretary, Umang Narula, on June 30.
