New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Japan's newly elected first woman Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi. He wrote on the social media platform 'X' that the deepening ties between India and Japan are crucial for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

PM Modi wrote in his X post, "Sanae Takaichi, heartiest congratulations on being elected Prime Minister of Japan. I look forward to working closely with you to further strengthen the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership. Addressing members of the Liberal Democratic Party, Japan's new PM, Sanae Takaichi, said, "I will keep my promises. We can rebuild only by uniting every generation and with everyone's participation. Takaichi got so many votes

Let us tell you that Sanae Takaichi, President of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, was elected Prime Minister by Parliament on Tuesday, becoming the country's first female leader. According to Kyodo report, Takaichi avoided a second round of elections by winning the first round of voting in the lower house. She received 237 votes compared to 149 votes for Yoshihiko Noda, leader of Japan's Conservative Democratic Party.
