A small-staking punter has pulled off a ‘stuff of dreams’ bet to net nearly £12,000 after shelling out just 52 pence. The William Hill customer selected eight horses for an each way accumulator from the four meetings on Saturday at Haydock, Kempton, Stratford and Ascot and seven of them went on to win.

By the time the last selection crossed the line in first place at Stratford, the bet had yielded a payout of £11,777.04. The winning streak had started with Zeus Olympios, who landed the opening Superior Mile at Haydock at odds of 4-1.

Then Valiancy came from the tail of the field to claim the 1m6f handicap at 2.25 at Haydock, also at odds of 4-1. The next horse to win as at Kempton where Five Ways scored at 5-1 at the all-weather venue.

It was over to Ascot for another decisive result where Abloom scored a dominant victory after being backed at 11-2.

Caprelo, who was 6-4, won the 2m handicap back at Kempton with the final two selections running at the late afternoon jumps meeting at Stratford.

There Hamlet’s Night won at 5-4 and Radharc Na Slaine sealed an extraordinary bet by taking the 5.55 race at odds of 4-1.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps, said: “It’s the stuff of punting dreams and bookies’ nightmares for a bettor to turn pennies into thousands, and that’s exactly what happened over the weekend.

“A 26p each-way eight-fold across four Saturday meetings landed, seeing the punter walk away with nearly £12,000. This is a remarkable bet that’s shocked our trading team, and we simply have to salute the punter in question.”
