The Prince and Princess of Wales had a private meeting with Donald Trump and his wife Melania today, Kensington Palace has revealed.
William and Kate met the president and first lady for a short meeting after lunch on Mr Trump's unprecendented second state visit to the UK.
It came after the royal couple were tasked with greeting the president and his wife as they arrived in Windsor earlier today for a full day of engagements, including a glittering state banquet tonight.

Kensington Palace said the meeting between William, Kate and the Trumps was “warm and friendly” and took place inside Windsor Castle. No details of what was discussed by the two couples has been released by the Palace.
Earlier, the royal couple, greeted the US President and First Lady as they disembarked Marine One after landing in the grounds of the Windsor estate,before they were taken to meet the King and Queen.
Kate was dressed in a burgundy Emilia Wickstead dress, matching hat by Jane Taylor and wearing a feather brooch. As Mr Trump stepped from the aircraft, William and Kate waited at the bottom of the step to greet him.
The president shook hands warmly with William and patted the heir to the throne affectionately on his right arm. Kate then shook hands with Mr Trump with the pair chatting throughout. Melania, wearing a wide brimmed purple hat which obscured her eyes, was also was also welcomed by the Waleses.

Kate was later seen talking to Melania Trump, wearing a black skirt suit with purple hat, held her husband’s hand as she walked across the lawn. They then walked the short distance to Victoria House where they were greeted by the King and Queen.
Later, in the castle’s quadrangle, which has staged welcomes for leaders from across the globe, the president inspected a Guard of Honour and following protocol strode in front of the King, accompanied by the captain of the guard Lieutenant Colonel Storm Green, with Charles a few steps behind.
The US leader stopped to speak to some of the guardsmen on parade from three of the British Army’s most prestigious regiments – Coldstream, Scots and Grenadier Guards – and was overheard thanking the soldiers stood to attention.
Mr Trump even shared a joke with one of the servicemen with Charles sharing the amusing moment as a few spots of rain fell.
There are no public-facing elements during Mr Trump’s engagements, with security paramount for the 47th US president – who has faced two assassination attempts in just over a year – in the wake of the killing of his ally Charlie Kirk.
Later today, Windsor Castle will host a glittering state banquet, where both the King and Mr Trump are due to give speeches.
