Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Divisional commissioner Deepak Singh has issued a show cause notice to Ward No 58 corporator Anwar Qadri, initiating proceedings for his possible removal from the post.
Qadri has been directed to submit a written reply, along with documentary evidence in triplicate, either in person or through his legal representative, before the divisional commissioner’s court at 11 am on August 25. The notice warns that failure to appear or submit a reply on the stipulated date will result in ex-parte action as per the law.
The proceedings follow a letter dated June 20 from Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav to the divisional commissioner, seeking Qadri’s disqualification and enclosing documents alleging his involvement in anti-national activities and multiple criminal offences. The letter claims Qadri has promoted ‘love jihad’ by funding and encouraging youths of a particular community for such activities.
