Expressing how helpless she felt in the moment, she added, "Initially I froze. I didn’t record, I didn’t hit him. People say you could have shouted, but they don’t understand what goes through a girl’s mind in that moment."

She said she struggled to contact the women’s helpline or police control room, but ultimately found the number of the nearest police station online. However, she was told to appear in person to file a written complaint against the man in the video.

Case Registered After Video Went Viral

The video quickly gained traction on social media, with the victim having a substantial following of over 35,000 followers. Several users tagged the Gurugram Police and the Haryana government in the comments section, leading to a police response. A case has now been registered at the Civil Lines police station under Sections 75(2) and 78 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Police spokesperson ASI Sandeep confirmed the FIR and said that CCTV footage from the area is being analysed to trace the accused. “Appropriate action will be taken based on the facts that emerge during the investigation,” he said, as quoted by News18.
