All schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar, from Nursery to Class 12, will remain closed on 3 September 2025 due to the alert of heavy rainfall. The decision, issued by the District Basic Education Officer on the directions of the District Magistrate, covers government, aided, private, CBSE, ICSE, and Madarsa Board institutions.

The closure order comes as Delhi and the wider NCR continue to struggle with disruptions caused by heavy rain.

Traffic snarls worsened on key stretches, especially at the Delhi–Gurugram border, where waterlogging slowed down movement during peak hours.

The Yamuna’s rising levels have also sparked concerns about potential flooding in low-lying areas.

Flight operations at Delhi airport have been affected, with airlines advising passengers to check their schedules in advance due to poor visibility and waterlogged runways.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cloudy skies are expected from 2–4 September, with light rain or thundershowers each day.

For 3 September, the maximum temperature is likely to settle between 32–34°C, while the minimum may range between 22–24°C.

Officials in Gautam Buddha Nagar and neighbouring districts remain on high alert, stepping up flood-control measures and urging residents to remain cautious.

Commuters have been advised to plan travel carefully and stay updated on weather and traffic advisories.
