Xavi Simons is reported to have played his last ever game for RB Leipzig.

The Netherlands international was left out of his side's pre-season friendly against Atalanta on Saturday, with a move to Chelsea thought to be imminent.

Simons, 22, is the next summer recruit for Enzo Marecsa, joining Ajax defender Jorel Hato through the door.

Leipzig confirmed Simons has been suffering from 'neck pain' in the build-up to their clash with the Serie A side.

Chelsea and Leipzig are described to have held advanced talks over the Dutch midfielder, with Florian Plettenberg providing the latest update.

Nothing is now in the way of Simons completing his move to the Premier League, although no formal bid has been set as of this weekend.

£60m has been reported as the required transfer fee, and Chelsea have the cash ready to go, with Joao Felix set to move to Saudi Arabia imminently.

The former PSG star has already hinted publicly that Leipzig is not part of his future.. He removed any mention of the club from his social media pages, now listing only his UNICEF ambassadorship and a Puma sponsorship on Instagram.

Christopher Nkunku, Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson have also been told to find new clubs, with the Blues' annual summer clearout in full swing.

Alfie Gilchrist, David Datro Fofana, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Mamadou Sarr and Aaron Anselmino are also said to be surplus to requirements, as Maresca continues to get tough with his squad.
