Arsenal make the trip to Manchester Unitedon the Premier League's opening weekend, though as many as six players could be absent from the Old Trafford encounter with the hosts particularly concerned about Andre Onana's availability.
The goalkeeper has been absent throughout the entire pre-season campaign and has been engaged in a lengthy battle to return in time for the campaign opener. A hamstring problem has kept him on the sidelines, with Altay Bayindir deputising during his absence.
The back-up goalkeeper may be required to continue between the sticks against the Gunners, although Onana did provide an encouraging update earlier this month, hinting at a potential return. He said: "I feel good, I feel great. It's been a few difficult weeks, but yeah, hopefully, I will be back for the start of the season."

Ruben Amorim faces the prospect of being without multiple members of his backline, with Lisandro Martinez remaining on the treatment table. The Argentine has endured persistent fitness concerns and whilst he made the journey to the US for pre-season preparations, no clear timeline has been established for his comeback, reports the Mirror.
Noussair Mazraoui has not been pictured in training for some time after being withdrawn at the interval during United's pre-season curtain-raiser against Leeds in Stockholm last month. The nature of his injury remains undisclosed, though his continued absence suggests cause for concern.
Joshua Zirkzee, who has been speculated as potentially departing Manchester United following the arrival of several new attacking options, remains doubtful for the clash against the Gunners. The Dutch forward indicated in July that he was aiming to be fit for the season opener.
Arsenal, meanwhile, will be eager to commence the campaign on a positive note with Mikel Arteta's squad potentially featuring several of their summer acquisitions. Viktor Gyokeres is expected to spearhead the attack, which represents welcome news given Gabriel Jesus continues to be absent with a significant knee problem.
The Brazilian has been unavailable since early 2025, leaving Arsenal short of options to lead their forward line and prompting their pursuit of Gyokeres. Leandro Trossard has fulfilled that role when called upon, though the Belgian is also battling fitness concerns.
He was omitted from the squad on Saturday as Arsenal defeated Athletic Bilbao 3-0 in their concluding pre-season encounter, but Arteta remains cautiously optimistic about his availability. "He had a little niggle in the groin - but he should be fine," said the Arsenal boss.
